Jonas Nash Medical Bills

Donation protected
As most of you know, Jonas recently got himself a new hip. (As in -- last week.) For the past year, his hip was deteriorating at such a quick rate that he could not walk without a cane at the end and was not able to work. For Jonas, "not working" means not taking paid jobs due to his hip not functioning, but still spending 50 hours a week juggling his non-profit art gallery (AFRU Gallery), his small rigging business, and his intentional communities and creative endeavors, Nasty's Dive Bar and the Ministry of Stupid Ideas.

As Jonas's health has declined, paid jobs have taken the back seat. So much community, and so many artists and supporters of the arts rely on the day-to-day functioning of AFRU Gallery, Nasty's, and the Ministry, (as well as NB Rigging). They are a tremendous part of the who, what, and where Jonas devotes his life. They do not, however, pay the bills and until Jonas can get upright, this is proving to be a huge life stressor.

Jonas had originally anticipated being off of work for 4 weeks, but because of the state of his hip deterieration, how much was removed, how adjoining cartilage, etc.. was impacted, he is now looking at a recovery time of 12 weeks, and instead of working, will have twice weekly co-pays of $100 per week for his physical therapy.

Jonas's friends and community have been amazing at helping keep the gallery and assorted community projects afloat. At this point, medical bills and missing work for so much longer than anticipated are becoming insurmountable debts. Without getting on top of them in some way and reaching out to his community for support, the show won't be able to go on. It has taken a lot of people asking and a fair bit of convincing for Jonas to consider asking for support.

There will be upcoming opportunities to purchase Jonas's art if interested. For now, the two greatest ways a person can help get him on his feet are by donating to this GoFundMe campaign and by bringing a meal to Jonas's house (volunteer a meal, get preferences and delivery information, etc. by texting [phone redacted]).

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for passing it along. If Jonas were writing this, he'd say something tacky and hilarious (albeit in poor taste) right about here, and then he would laugh ferociously as people blushed over it.  No one can really take Jonas's place in sense of humor, or in grammatical creativity, so we'll leave it at a resounding and deeply felt: THANK YOU!!
