Jon Elliott's Memorial Fund

Donation protected

Jon Elliott was one of the strongest men I have ever known.  His family would like to do what they can to help his wife, Paula, and his two young boys through this horrible time.
Jon's love of life, the outdoors and his family was so easily seen.  There was never a day you couldn't find a smile on this wonderful mans face.  He loved to go camping, rock hunting/collecting, fishing, hunting, hiking... anything that involved being outdoors was an adventure full of laughs, smiles and wonderful times with him.  He absolutely adored taking his wife, kids, nieces and nephews out hiking to share his knowledge of Michigan and nature.
Despite not drinking or smoking, he was diagnosed with a liver disease in 2008 but continued to live a full and amazing life with his wife and children.  In 2016 Jon's health started declining. Finally he was put on the transplant list and waited.  During that time he continued to do what he loved.  Camping with his family, hiking, fishing, rock collecting.  His favorite rock to find was the Agate, when he was strong enough, he would go for miles on a beach just to find one.  Steadily his health declined and he was no longer able to get out and do the outdoor activities that had filled his families lives with love and adventures.  In January of 2017 Jon was finally the recipient of a liver transplant.  Due to complications, however, he never fully recovered.   In 2017 Jon only spent a few short months at home with his family.  In those months, his sheer force of will allowed him to do what he loved and take a few trips camping with his family.  Sadly, Jon's body could not keep up with his mind and will.  On Sunday, January 21st, 2018 Jon Elliott joined the Angels in Heaven.
During his hospitalizations his wife Paula was a rock.  With the help of family, she split herself in so many directions.  She was working, taking care of their home, taking care of their children, and many weeks making more than one trip to Ann Arbor where Jon was at the University of Michigan Medical Center.  The months of hospitalization, travel, medical expenses and now losing Jon has taken a toll on this wonderful little family.
Please consider giving in Jon's memory to help his wife and take some of the stress of this time off from her shoulders.  The medical bills are still coming in, the expenses she has to face during this difficult time will add up as well as the stress of raising two young boys on her own.  Any help would be appreciated.  Please keep Jon's Family and Friends in your prayers.
