The Jolly Knave Shag Club operated in Raleigh and Atlantic Beach, NC for 30 years from 1967 - 1997. The Knave's juke box became recognized as THE BEST beach and shag music juke box in the Carolinas.... EVER! And...if you ever shagged on either of the Knaves' unfinished hardwood floors to the legendary Knave juke box while drinking an ice cold beer, you don't have to be reminded of the fun and memorable times you had and the lifelong friendships you developed.
While the 2 clubs have closed, the Knave legacy is still very much alive and is now focused on raising funds for friends and family members of the shagging community (through the nonprofit Hall of Fame Foundation - see info below) who are experiencing financial difficulty as a result of an encounter with cancer. While we encourage you to attend our fun events, if you can't, please donate at least $25 (the cost of a weekend ticket) here at our GoFundMe page.

BORN OF SHAGGERS! HELPING SHAGGERS!
In 1991 a group of friends who were bound by a common love for the music and culture that surrounds shag dancing came together to discuss how one of their group was in financial need due to bad health. They decided that they wanted to help out their friend's situation.
From that meeting the Hall of Fame Foundation was born. In their efforts to aid a friend, the members of The Foundation found a gift for themselves...they discovered the gift of giving. The spirit born in that meeting and fed on the gift of giving has grown over the years.
Today The Foundation carries on in the tradition set forth by their founding members. We strive to seek out and assist members of the shag dancing community who need our assistance. Our motto is "Friends Helping Friends".
