In Honor of Jolie's Bat Mitzvah

Dear Family and Friends,
I am so excited to become a Bat Mitzvah! As I prepare to be called to the Torah, my time studying Hebrew has helped to teach me the value of Tzedakah, which means to give to those in need.
For my Mitzvah Project, I have chosen to support “My Buddy Henry Buchanan IV Second Annual Fishing Fundraiser." Henry was an amazing little boy, who loved fishing, his family and his friends. Henry was a patient that my Mom adored, and he was also a great student at my school. Henry died when he was 7 years old, and his
parents have created a wonderful way to honor him by starting a fundraiser to celebrate something Henry loved, which is fishing.
In January 2018, his parents hosted the first annual fishing tournament to help raise money for children in our town who otherwise would not have the chance to attend summer camp, where they would learn how to fish. My Mom, Dad, Sofie and I went fishing for Henry and those kids that day, and we will do it again this coming January, and the January after that too.
Henry’s story is very meaningful to me because I love fishing and going to camp. And I also love my Poppy Bernie, who taught my sister, my Dad and I how to fish. We still go fishing in our backyard with our Dad, and it is so much fun! I know that Poppy Bernie was a great teacher and an awesome fisherman. He would love that my Mitzvah project will help teach other kids how to fish, and love it as much as we do.
Please join me and help send more children to camp this summer to learn how to love fishing as much as Poppy Bernie and Henry did.

Henry Buchanan IV's family is seen here presenting a check to the Hollywood Florida Police Athletic League. All funds raised from the My Buddy Henry Buchanan IV Fishing Tournament were donated to the Hollywood Florida Police Athletic League so that underprivileged children could attend the summer camp hosted by the league. Fishing was a big part of the summer's activities!
