Jolie Kate’s Journey

This GoFundMe is to help Jolie Kate and her family with expenses related to her seizure dog training, medical bills, and future needs for her.
Jolie is a lively 6-year-old, diagnosed with intractable epilepsy, autism, severe speech impairments, along with much more. Her first seizure being at just 15 months old and suffers from a multitude of various types of seizures, some of which can be very dangerous. She has spent countless nights in hospitals, taken many rides in ambulances, and has had uncountable hours of therapies throughout her short life. In October 2020, Jolie underwent her first brain surgery in hopes that doctors were able to locate the area her seizures start and spread. After spending nearly a month in the hospital for testing, doctors determined the area of origin in which Jolie’s seizures begin was too broad, informing the family that Jolie was not an epilepsy surgical candidate. To say this family has been put through many obstacles that some of us could never begin to imagine would be an understatement. After a long wait and A LOT of help to make this happen, Jolie Kate welcomed her seizure dog home in February 2021! The Boyd Family knows that without each of you (family, friends, amazing community, and complete strangers,) this dream would have never become reality!

Belle is a 1-year-old Labradoodle trained in College Station, TX by River's Edge Dog Academy, s, who specializes in training diabetic and seizure alert dogs, as well as PTSD service dogs. The Boyd Family are comforted knowing that Belle is another tool for them to help keep Jolie safe. Mom & Dad can now look towards Jolie's future with excitement and ease, which is something they have longed to do for quite some time.
