Dear Family & Friends,
Having opened our doors just over a year ago, Jolene's Bar has become a home to many folx in our community. Jolene's is more than a bar: we are a family dedicated to creating a safe space for our ENTIRE community.
As many of you know and are experiencing, the newly enforced state mandated restrictions surrounding COVID-19 are throwing us all for a loop and really putting the harsh reality of the situation into perspective. In a time like this, we really can't help but think of what is most important to us- our friends, families, community and the Jolene's crew!
We have dozens of hourly employees—bartenders and barbacks, kitchen staff and chefs, hosts and techs—who are all devastatingly out of work for the unforeseeable future. Our mission with this support fund is to make sure the Jolene's Crew is taken care of during this time of need.
WE NEED HELP making sure we are able to come back together to keep queers connecting, the party bumpin', the photo booth flashing, the pool table scratching, the drinks pouring, the lights shining, and the community CLOSER THAN EVER, once things have settled and groups can gather again.
Our financial goal of $25,000 is to ensure every one of our employees receives a paycheck at the end of the month. This fund will be distributed evenly amongst all employees. Life in the bay is expensive and we really don't know when we'll be able to reopen and reoccupy our community space. PLEASE help us stay afloat in these uncertain times by donating or sharing on our behalf.
