This is Jacob, or as his mom and Dad sometimes call him, JB. He is my nephew. He is my amazing nephew & he has forever captured my heart!
URGENT! Please Help!
My siblings and I are asking for donations to help Garrett & Joanna cover the cost for Jacob's funeral and burial expenses.

WHO THEY ARE
Jacob belongs to my little brother, Garrett Browning and his amazing wife, Joanna. These two have amazed me, & my other siblings from the first moments they learned of the many challenges Jacob would be facing. Instead of asking why, Garrett & Joanna met these adversity head on, continually giving selflessly to their two boys with patience, love and a sweet tenderness. They have led the way with a fierce & persisting battle call to help find a cure for their Jacob when at first, even their doctors were not sure what to tell them. Jacob was born with Myotubular Myopathy or MTM. MTM is something very few people have ever heard about, let alone, lived with. Jacob, his brother Sam, and his mom & dad have had to face this muscle-robbing disease everyday. Even-so, everyday, as much as I know it pained them to see their Jacob have to be the one to teach the rest of us all about MTM, the Bravery and God given Grace they put before their own pain was an incredible witness to all who knew them. The Love & Strength they pulled from our Lord & Savior was evident and it gave strength to all who crossed paths with them.
Sadly, just a few short days ago, our sweet Jacob went to be with Jesus.
Being born with such a diagnosis, one so rare and unfamiliar to most, Garrett and Joanna had insurance to help with some of the medical expenses but were not able to find a company to take Jacob on for life insurance. They are left with nothing to fall back on to help them with their medical expenses, let alone the services needed to lay their sweet Jacob to rest. Jacob needed 24/7 care, while still having to maintain the many scheduled, and unfortunately, unscheduled trips to doctors and hospitals in order to stay on top of his health. Garrett & Joanna found hope in a study to help find a cure for MTM. However, at the time, the study was not approved in the US (it is now!! Praise God)and they had to travel to Canada every three months for Jacob's testing in order to see if he would even be a candidate for the gene therapy. As you all can imagine, all of this took a toll on their finances, and even though it did, Garrett & Joanna still chose to raise money for MTM. They, along with a few of their closest friends, put together a trivia night and raised $23,000, giving it all to Dr. Dowling and his research in finding a cure. Not keeping a dime for themselves. Garrett and Joanna did everything in their power to help find a cure, not only for their Jacob, but for all children of MTM.

Any Additional moneys raised beyond the total needed will be donated to The Joshua Frase Foundation or Dr. Dowling's MTM Research in finding a cure.

'Jacob’s impact during his time on this earth has been powerful and a true testament to God’s love. Being his parents is the greatest privilege of our lives. We are SO proud of you Jacob.'
Jacob defied all odds and despite the challenges he faced, his courageous fight, determination and contagious joy for life inspired all that knew him intimately, as well as those who knew of him through others. Jacob would quickly steal the heart of anyone he met with his sweet spirit and smiling eyes, and those in his presence would instantly fall in love with him. His enthusiasm and perseverance to rise to the occasion of any challenge required of him always impressed his teachers and therapists.
In Jacob’s extraordinarily meaningful life he has forever transformed those who loved him and he leaves a legacy of hope. He accomplished many things, perhaps the greatest of which is that Jacob modeled for us the unconditional love of God, and for that we are forever thankful. Although, as Jacob’s family, our hearts are saddened that he is no longer with us physically, in reality, Jacob is living BIG in our hearts today. We rejoice that he is in the presence of our Heavenly Father, fully whole and healed. Join us in celebrating Jacob and the beautiful gift that he is.
