Stacy's Cancer Story: Be Brave.

Donation protected

Never in our lives did we think that we would be embarking on this journey.  It is a journey filled with sadness.  But, underneath the sadness there is joy, hope, and so much bravery my heart could burst.  My wife, Stacy, was diagnosed the morning of our wedding anniversary, Jan. 14th, with stage 4 small-cell ovarian cancer, otherwise known as "the silent kller."  Stacy has given life to 8 wonderful beautiful children.  Five of those loving children are still in the home.  Bree and Cat (twins) age 14, Braeden and Gwen (twins) age 10, And last but not least Freedom Rayne 7.

Throughout this journey we have had times where, as her husband, I have had to face the choice to be with her as she faces hurdles in her battle, or work to maintain financial and emotional stability for our children.  It is a hard choice I wish for no one.  It is not a worry my wife should have to carry.

Now, more than ever, we feel the need to stand together, but the weight of medical bills and day-to-day responsibilities distracts my brave wife from the fight of her life.  I worry about bills; that she can have a home when she returns from the hosipital.  She worries about her 14 year-old daughters having dresses for their promotion ceremonies.

It is a hard thing to watch my wife, emotionally torn by the realization of just how much sacrifice her kids face.  But they face it bravely when no one should have to.

All I ask is a little help.  And anyone who knows me knows how hard that is for me to say.  Medical bills, a few dresses for her daughters, and just enough spare to ease her mind and let us focus on what matters, family.

I am thankful for our children.  I am thankful for all the time I've had with my wife and all the remaining time I have.  And we are thankful for anything you could offer to help.

And we would be most thankful if everyone took a moment to learn the signs, get a check-up, and join the fight.
