Please Join With Ann Marie to Fight  Lyme!

This Go FUND ME account is for Ann Marie Gist age 14.

We are requesting your assistance in helping with expenses for doctor visits, medications, treatments and airfare for Ann Marie.  Doctors have indicated that children and teenagers have a good chance of recovering from Lyme.

Ann Marie is a ray of light in her family of five which includes parents Steven and Wendy and an older and twin brother.  She has a sweet spirit and has always been a bundle of joy.   She enjoys crafting, family time, playing Roblox with her friends and spending time with her guinea pigs.  These last few years have been a real challenge for her health wise. We are looking to get the smile back on her face and the jump back in her step.  Please help us in doing this.

Ann Marie contracted Lyme Disease in the womb and has battled severe symptoms for the past 3 years. Some of these symptoms include unwarranted anxiety(from swollen spinal cord), weakness, severe stomach pain, fatigue, excessive sleeping, dietary restrictions, body pain and headaches.  This has led to excessive school absenteeism and social and emotional trauma.    She is unable to participate in activities that she previously enjoyed, such as volleyball, soccer, Girl Scouts, cross country skiing, ice skating, dance and tumbling due to physical and mental fatigue.  It  has been necessary for her to stop all formal after school classes that healthy children get to enjoy.

In May 2018, it was no surprise that she tested positive for Lyme and the co-infections Bartonella, Babesia and Ehrlichlea.  In August 2018 she  flew to Seattle to see specialists.  She started treatment in  August and will continue for several years.   Her and and her mother, Wendy,  need to travel to Seattle every 6 months, these are  in addition to  Skype appointments in-between.  She returned to Seattle this March for reevaluations.

At this time her treatment includes  two antibiotics for Lyme, medications for mold toxicity, supplements for inflammation along with other supportive supplements and herbs.  Her reaction to the antibiotics is not always favorable so we are  looking for more supportive treatments.

With the proper treatments, doctors say that Ann Marie is young enough that she has a high probability of healing completely from the Lyme and co-infections. The  Go-Fund-Me money can provide funds for treatments and medications that will assist in getting her well.   Collectively we can purchase the medical assistance that a Lyme patient needs to recover.

Air Fare Mileage Coupons
Another way you might be able to help is by  donating excess air mileage.  Wendy ( Ann Marie's mother) and Ann Marie are required to fly from  Kenai, Alaska to Seattle twice yearly.  Please contact us if this is a way you can be of help.   (You can call me at [phone redacted] or email me at [email redacted] ,  Sally Macy - Grandmother.  We can setup a transfer with Alaska Airlines via phone.

Expenditures would be for the basics:
airfare, doctor visits, medications and supplements. The August trip to Seattle cost $2,000 cash and insurance reimbursement was very minimal.  (Ann Marie's uncle and aunt live in the Seattle area and they provide housing and transportation for her.)

With your financial assistance Ann Marie will make strides forward in her personal war against Lyme.
Help Ann Marie become victorious over this illness now!   Thank you so much!

                                                                          Lyme Disease Information:
Lyme is an illness contracted when a tiny insect or tick bites a human.   This disease is NOT embraced or recognized fully by the general medical doctors in America. 300,000 Americans contact Lyme each year and is a growing concern.   Medical expenses are not covered under regular insurance thus all doctor appointments (including specialists) and the majority of the medications or treatments prescribed are paid for in cash  with no insurance reimbursement.   Lyme is called the rich man’s disease because the cost of  successful treatment is expensive. This is why we are asking for monetary assistance.
