This is Will and this July, I am about to take my third mission trip to the Appalachian region to help families and a community. Our mission is to serve with the Appalachia Service Project (ASP) each summer. ASP is a teenage home repair ministry dedicated to serve needy families throughout the Appalachian Mountains. This region of the United States has some of the most poverty stricken areas of anywhere in the world.
I still haven't found out where we will travel but it will be somewhere in Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, or North Carolina to help families that don't have the resources or the abilities to make their own home repairs. A few weeks ago, I was in Kentucky when devastating flooding began. On Valentine’s Day 2025, heavy rains started to fall in parts of rural Appalachia. Thousands of people were displaced from homes. Knowing this, I know this year more than ever, we are needed. The photo below was taken two weeks ago and is right near where the first photo was taken, Hazard, KY. While serving families, we practice what it means to be the hands and feet of Christ.
This organization helps families regardless of belief systems, pasts and we assist impoverished families because we believe that safe and affordable housing is a right that every individual should enjoy. In the photo above, you can see a part of a stable porch I helped construct for this incredible family.
I would like to humbly ask for your help in raising funds this year as I know more than ever before in my heart, I am supposed to be there to do everything I can.
