<div>A little over a year ago our family received the heartbreaking news that my brother, Lee, was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). As many of you know, ALS is a progressive, devastating disease that gradually robs individuals of their ability to move, speak, eat and eventually breathe – but it can’t take away Lee’s strength of spirit or the love that surrounds him.

<div>Lee is many things. He is a devoted husband, a proud father of two and a loving “Bumpa” to three grandchildren who light up his world. Family has always been at the center of his life. He spent his life working tirelessly on the family dairy farm, getting up everyday to provide for his family and care for the animals and land he so loved. Farming wasn’t just his job – it was his identity and his way of life.

<div>Since his diagnosis, his condition has progressed rapidly. Lee has faced this challenge with strength, humor and deep love for his family. His wife of 34 years and the love of his life, Lisa, has become his full-time caretaker, dedicating herself to his care and comfort. Their days are filled with challenges, navigating medical appointments, managing increasing physical needs, and facing the emotional toll of this relentless disease.

<div>Unfortunately, the financial burden of ALS is staggering. Costs of mobility equipment, medical care and daily living support continue to mount. With a very limited income, they are struggling to keep up with basic expenses let alone the growing medical bills.

<div>I’ve started this fundraiser to help ease their financial burden of the ever-growing medical bills and living expenses that ALS brings. No one plans for a diagnosis of ALS. It affects every part of life, physically, emotionally, and financially.
