<div>All funds are transferred directly to WCEN's NC TowneBank account and disbursed for rescue and relief operations. WCEN acts as an intermediary, with victims the ultimate beneficiaries. No funds are transferred to individuals/volunteers.

<div>WCEN officially formed on October 3, 2024 with the North Carolina Secretary of State and registered with the IRS as a charity under 501(c)(3) to ensure all donations remain tax deductible. It was formed by a network of community organizations in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. The Western Carolina Emergency Network (WCEN) coordinates disaster relief efforts across Western North Carolina, bringing together organizations and resources to save lives and restore essential infrastructure. The network mobilizes donations, supplies, and volunteers to deliver effective support during crises.
