My dad, Charlie Spriggs, has always been Superman in my eyes. He's a great dad, great husband to my mom, and a great papa. He has always put his family first and is one of the most unselfish people I know. We never worried about something happening to him medically that would hamper his ability to be Superman.

Well, in April, our lives changed dramatically. Dad was diagnosed with leukemia, and it's been a physical, mental, and emotional battle since then. Dad has undergone blood transfusions, chemotherapy injections, and in June had to get some dental work done, which was the cause of his leukemia.

Along with the emotional toll it has taken on us as a family, it has strained us financially. Medical and utility bills have begun to add up, which is why we are reaching out to our family and friends.
