Race to Remember: Honoring Loved Ones, Fighting Cancer
Tax deductible
If you or a loved one has been affected by cancer, I invite you to join me in making a difference in raising funds towards the American Cancer Society. On October 19, I’ll be running the 19th Annual Buffalo Creek Half Marathon in honor of my grandpa, Robert McFarland, who passed away earlier this year while afflicted with brain cancer.
In his memory and in honor and support for all of those impacted by all types cancer, I’m dedicating this race to support the American Cancer Society—an organization that funds crucial cancer research and supports patients and families. If you’re able, please consider making a donation to this cause. Any amount, even it you think of it as small has the potential to make a large impact.
My grandpa had a special love for cross country and track, especially when it came to supporting my sister and me during our events. Although I personally have not been the greatest runner, I have been training knowing he would have been proud to cheer me on as I take on my first half marathon.
Every step of this race will be in honor of my grandpa and anyone whose lives have been affected by cancer, and your support truly means the world to me. Thank you for helping keep his spirit alive through this cause.
