Hello everyone!

We are the 2024 Session 1 and 2 CITs (Counselors In Training). Each year, the CITs are tasked with creating a legacy project. A legacy project is a project each CIT group creates, develops, and implements to better Mohawk for future generations. This year, our project is centered around making the unique history of Camp Mohawk more accessible to all. We plan on installing three signs around camp, detailing the history of specific areas. Each of these signs will encompass a different aspect of Mohawk’s fascinating history through images, documents, and text. A sign by the main office will detail general history and land ownership of the property. Another sign by the waterfront will focus on the origins of camp and where it all began next to the pond. The third sign will be installed at the trailhead of Mohawk Mountain to delve into Mohawk's fascinating indigenous background as well as the history of the mountain itself. We will be using the funds we raise to purchase the three signs. We hope you’ll join us in our passion for educating the Mohawk community on the great history of the camp we know and love today.
