Join Ted's Fight to Beat Cancer

As most of you know, Ted had been experiencing symptoms of vertigo throughout the month of February.  After numerous inconclusive doctor and ENT visits, a trip to the Emergency Department ultimately discovered a "lesion" in the right side of Ted's brain.

The discovery quickly lead to a surgery to biopsy and ultimately remove as much of the "lesion" as possible.  On Friday February 28, 2020  we learned that what we were really hoping was just some weird mass, removed and no longer a concern, was actually a cancerous gr 4 Glioblastoma.  Suddenly our hearts stopped.  Did we hear the diagnosis right?  Cancer.  In Ted's Brain.

The weeks after the first surgery were spent processing the diagnosis, gaining Ted's strength back and assembling our army to fight!  Ted has already learned to walk again due to some left side paralysis and has powered through excruciating headaches and nausea.  His resolve to dominate cancer is strong.

After pursuing regional second opinions at renowned neuro surgery and neuro oncology institutions, Ted decided to seek treatment locally to be close to the power of family and friends and to ultimately support the network here in Columbus that he loves so much.  Ted is currently  recovering well from his second surgery to remove more of the tumor at The James. Next up, preparation for rocking months of radiation and chemotherapy.  Ted is eligible for multiple clinical trials and is a great candidate with his age and health to "kick cancer's a**" as he puts it!

I am Ted's wife and I am writing to ask you to support my husband, Ted, in his fight against brain cancer.  If you know him, you know that he has a zest for life and this will not slow him down.  He has spent his life living life to the fullest in every moment with so many family and friends.  So much so that this was supposed to be the time of our lives to travel, save money and to prepare for the future of our two sons.  We both have jobs that we love.  We were in a great spot, until Cancer.

Please join us in support of Ted and his fight to beat Cancer.  Any donations graciously given will go directly to medical bills and therapy solutions to aid in the best possible care for Ted.  Many of you have already sent meals, fresh juice, watched and driven our boys (pre-covid), sent supportive cards, packages and messages, birthday signs and spent hours upon hours to visit (also pre covid!)! Thank you all so much! We could not do this without you.

We will keep you posted along this journey through this GoFundMe platform.  The support of family and friends means so much to Ted.  Keep those good vibes coming! Ted is strong, resilient and a perfectionist.  Ted is going to perfectly beat cancer just like he perfectly works on our home, coaches his sons in lacrosse or works at his job.  Cancer, be scared.  Ted is ready to fight!
