I met Justin Clutter 6 years ago when he started working with me in the Special Education department at RCHS.  We fast became friends and he introduced me to his beautiful wife, Lexie.  That was an easy friendship too!!  She is a bubbly, funny, crazy and loving person! She is also an educator and now works at the middle school in Rabun County!!  With both being educators,  I’m sure everyone knows that these two are constantly helping others in so many ways and now they need our help!!

Lexie and Justin have one beautiful little girl, Taryn, that is 6 (Lexie’s little clone child, as you can see above!!)  Lexie also has two grown children, Colton and Cassidy.

This family needs and deserves HELP now!!!  With her diagnosis of large cell renal cancer, the medical bills are rolling in!!  At every turn in the road a boulder seems to be in the way!  A new spot here, a lesion there!!  So right now the plan of treatment is wide open but those bills never stop!!

HELP me get the work out about joining TEAM LEXIE by sharing my link on your timeline—PLEASE!!

PLEASE READ BELOW, A LETTER FROM CASSIDY ABOUT HER MOM!!!!

Most of you have probably met my mom and know how wonderful she is, but if you haven’t, let me tell you a little bit about her. Her favorite color is pink. She could probably recite The Sound of Music from memory. Any given day, she’d rather be cuddled up with a cup of tea and watching (or rereading) the Outlander series than doing probably anything else. She has three kids, has been teaching English to middle and high school students for as long as I can remember, and has been inspiring her students since the day she set foot in a classroom. She was a regional championship cheerleading coach and a pretty outstanding softball coach, dedicating countless hours to her students and her athletes.

What you may not know is that in September of 2017 this powerhouse of a lady was diagnosed with large-cell renal cancer. The past few months have brought a lot of her and her family’s life to a screeching halt as we all processed the news and decided how to move forward. But as you can tell from the description above, my mom is no quitter. With her family behind her, she has decided to face this horrible disease head-on with the intent to beat it so hard that it never comes back. But hospital and treatment costs will be piling up and there is still so much life to live while going through the rigorous treatments.

You’ve heard it before, “Every penny counts,” and that statement couldn’t be more true, especially for a woman who can and will move mountains for the people she loves. As we enter the holiday season, money is normally tight for a lot of families, so we appreciate anything that you choose to give during this particularly hard time.

True strength isn’t measured by the lack of tears shed, but shedding those tears in the moment and deciding to pick yourself up and keep fighting.

Much love,
Cassidy
