Hi everyone, my name is Shyanne and I am Shannon Evans’ daughter. On March 18th of this year my mom started having severe abdominal pain while at work which she wound up in the ER for, while there they initially discovered that she had diverticulitis and sepsis so she was admitted and started on antibiotics. After two days of treatment her pain had not gotten better so they did a repeat CT scan and discovered she had a perforated bowel from the diverticulitis. Once this was discovered it was decided she needed to be transferred to a higher level of care for emergency surgery. She was transferred to St. Vincent in Evansville where she underwent an exploratory laparotomy with sigmoid colon resection and colostomy creation. She was hospitalized for 10 days and thankfully since being home has done well but has had to make major life changes to adjust to life with a colostomy. She is now to the point in her recovery that she is ready to get her colostomy reversed, however she is uninsured and due to this they are requiring that her hospital bills from her emergent surgery and admission be paid before they will schedule her reversal surgery. We are asking for help to cover these bills. Any and all help is appreciated to help get her back to living her normal life again. Thank you all so much in advance!
