Join Rozanna's fight!

Rozanna is our beloved sister, daughter, granddaughter, wife, and mother to four beautiful children: twins Alyssa and Mikayla whoare both in college, Hannah who is a freshman in high school this year, and Duane, Jr., in seventh grade.  She has worked for over a decade as a devoted labor and delivery RN, helping hundreds of families welcome their littlest ones into the world.  After months of mysterious and excruciating rib and back pain, it was discovered that she had multiple fractures in her ribs and vertebrae.  Further testing revealed a shocking diagnosis: multiple myeloma, which is a blood cancer that usually strikes older adults.  Rozanna is only 39.  She has a particularly difficult-to-treat type of this cancer, and her only hope of cure is stem cell transplant. 

Rozanna has completed her stem cell transplant, but this week we received some bad news.  Her cancer is not responding to treatment, and is getting worse :(  Her physician has told us she has about 3 months to 2 years of life left.  You can imagine how devastating this news has been.

There is some hope that Rozanna may qualify for a new, investigational treatment called CAR-T therapy.  If she can get into a CAR-T study, this could be the miracle we have been waiting for.  However, this would require her to travel out of state, even as far as Boston, and she would have to come up with the money for travel expenses.  Thank you so much to every person who has donated!!  So far you have helped Rozanna and her family pay their bills and pay for transport back and forth to the hospital where she had her stem cell transplant (50 miles away).  I know with your help we can fund her travel to wherever she needs to go, even if it's a thousand miles away!
