<div>My name is Rachel Langland, and I have dedicated the past 30 years of my life to the field of medicine. Originally from England, I moved to the United States in 1997, where I completed my residency in Phoenix. I opened my own practice in an underserved area, driven by a deep-seated calling to provide care to those who need it most.

<div>My journey has been shaped by experiences that have profoundly impacted my life and work. In 1995, I had the privilege of working at the only eye hospital for Palestinians in Palestine. This experience ignited my passion for service and reinforced my commitment to helping those in desperate need of medical care.

<div>I am married to an American fighter pilot, and together we have three incredible adult children: Dylan, a medical student; Ethan, a biomedical engineer; and Kyra, a college student studying kinesiology. Our family has always supported one another in our pursuits, and my husband’s recent retirement has allowed him to assist in my medical missions, further deepening our shared commitment to service.

<div>In 2008, we relocated to Australia, where I retrained and worked in rural medicine, geriatrics, and medical education. This chapter of my life allowed me to grow in my profession while making a difference in the lives of patients. We returned to the U.S. in 2017, and since then, I have participated in numerous medical mission trips.

<div>In 2021, I traveled to the Dominican Republic, and in 2022, I served as part of the medical team at high school camps. I have also worked in Mexico and, most recently, spent a week in the Yucatán with Heartfire, providing care to Mayan villagers. Each experience has reaffirmed my belief that I am called to serve wherever there is a medical need.

<div>This coming November, Heartfire has invited me to Egypt, followed by a mission to Lebanon in January. <strong>I feel a strong calling to provide care, love, and compassion to these communities.</strong> However, these missions come with significant costs, including travel, accommodation, food, and medical supplies for those that we are treating. Even within Phoenix, there are a growing number of homeless individuals who have little or no access to medical care. <strong>Wherever the need arises, I want to be there to serve and show people that there are still clinicians who care about them and not just their own wallet.</strong>

<div>My husband and I wish to participate in disaster relief around the USA. Using our trailer, we would bring in supplies like water and food but also provide medical care to those who need it. We wish to be the first, not the last, to offer our support and supplies.
