Please consider donating to the John & Melinda Weber GO FUND ME page. Our family, like so many others, has been devastated by the effects of cancer on a loved one. John Weber is currently in ICU at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St Louis.
As creator of this GO FUND ME page it is my job to explain the need for help and justify asking for your monetary support. I will do my best to paint a picture of a man and woman, husband and wife of 15 years(together 28) fighting for just one more day together. There are so many effects this terrible disease has on a family. I have seen my mother struggle with the roller coaster of emotions from being hopeful to dreading having to bury her husband. This is the reality. John's disease has been brutal in the fact there is hope and then there are complications threatening his life.
Our mom and step father are very prideful people and wouldn't ask for help financially, so we are doing it for them. The emotional stress is terrible when dealing with a loved one fighting a disease. Unfortunately, that is only part of the struggle. The financial loss is overwhelming and the thought of losing everything you have ever worked for creeps in your head. I could go on forever about the struggle because it is so emotional, but let me tell you about the people you would be supporting in this fight. And that's exactly what it is....a FIGHT OF LIFETIME!
John and Melinda Weber are the proud owners of Weber Body Shop in Monticell, IL. If you live in our small town there is a good chance John has gone out of his way to help you or someone you know. I know even before mom and John met, he helped me out of a pickle! You see, like any business the goal is to make money, but that is NOT JOHN WEBER'S passion! John is about the relationships and friends that come through the door every day. You dont survive 30 years in a small town without treating people right. And that is EXACTLY what he does. John loves to chat and hear stories from friends and customers. He cares for HIS GUYS at the body shop a great deal. The one thing he has consistently asked about are...HIS GUYS.
Anyone who knows John Weber knows his biggest passion....nope not cars....although that's a close second.....HIS DOGS!
John and Melinda Weber have never met a dog they wouldn't help in a time of need! NEVER! THey have 14 dogs and most of them rescued. John LOVES his dogs and family and wants nothing more than to get back home to spend time with them.
Let me tell you a little about Melinda Weber. First of all, she is the most selfless person I know. EVERYBODY loves MO! She works at Kirby Medical Center in Monticello,IL and loves taking care of people and patients. She will help anyone at any time with anything! She is also an animal lover! IF she was gonna be married to John Weber she BETTER BE! I have personally never seen anyone fight harder for someone to live. After exhausting all options locally she began to look for more help. Barnes Hospital is that option and they have been wonderful, but Barnes is 3 hours away. Even though it has been very difficult, she has not left his side while John has been in ICU.
Here are some examples of costs they are dealing with.
Hotel costs- the lodge has not been an option due to availability-currently 2 weeks worth with hopefully 2 more to go
-Gas
-Food
-Dog Helper
-Extraordinary amount of medical expenses
Hoping to raise enough to bring John back home to the people and pets he loves so dearly.
