My name is Ayanna Fowler, and I am a senior at Hampton University in Hampton, VA studying Criminal Justice. I’d like to ask if you are interested in making dreams come true?
For as long as I can remember I have been more than a dreamer, I wanted to help people, not just in any way but to help with solidifying the rights and privileges of the marginalized citizens of the United States of America. I am a self appointed advocate for justice for all, and now I am given the opportunity of a lifetime! I have been awarded the opportunity to study at the United States International University in Nairobi, Kenya for the 2019 Spring semester!
The USIU is the most diverse university in Kenya and specializes in humanitarian issues and social reformation, now you understand why I proudly and eagerly accepted this honor. Social injustices exist even in countries where people of color are the majority, I want to learn how we compare. I am extremely appreciative and humbled by this opportunity, but I need your help to have this dream come true.
I yearn to broaden my horizons and develop as an individual, student, and future criminal defense attorney. During this time I hope to acquire the proper skills needed to defend those that have not the ability to defend themselves specifically in the area of mass incarceration of Blacks and people of color in America and recidivism.
I can begin this five-month journey in January of 2019 with the help of you all. I am sincerely asking for your help and donations. Your assistance is needed to help cover tuition, airfare, and personals which are not completely covered for me to travel.
