<div>My name is Maika Ruiz and I am a Mexican-American competitive rock climber. I have been doing this sport since I was 7 years old. In the 2020 and 2024 Olympics, rock climbing was a discretionary sport. Now, for the 2028 Olympics, sport climbing will be inducted as a mandatory sport, due to its increase in popularity and acceptance worldwide. This is not only a sport or a hobby; it is my second home and my passion.

<div>There are A LOT of local and international competitions you can attend if you qualify. This year, <strong>I will be representing Mexico in the IFSC Youth World Cup 2025!!!</strong> It will take place in Finland this summer (July/August). For that, I need your help! Going to local (in and out of state) and international comps is not cheap. <strong>Going to compete in Finland is not an easy road and my parents are doing everything they can to make this possible.</strong> Any help from all of you will help lessen their pressure and get me closer to participating in my first (of many to come) World Cups!
