On May 14th 2025, Kaylie was in a horse riding accident resulting in a traumatic arm injury that almost took her life.
Through a series of seemingly devine circumstances, a family friend was nearby when the incident occurred. A tourniquet was administered just in time.
Due to a severe storm, life flight was unable to takeoff and Kaylie was driven by ambulance from Miles City to Billings for emergency surgery.
So far, surgery has been a success. The medical staff in Billings was able to reconstruct Kaylie’s brachial artery via a graft from her leg, and did their best to put everything back where it belonged.
The next few weeks are pivotal for her recovery. Looking forward, she will undergo multiple surgeries over the next few months to repair ligaments, tendons, etc.
Best case scenario, Kaylie will likely be on the mend for the next 6 to 8 months.
Kaylie’s family has set up a Go Fund Me in hopes she can cover the growing financial strain she is facing at this time.
Kaylie would like to thank everyone that has reached out to her, she would like to thank the paramedics and medical staff involved, her family for their support, and the brave young man that was able to save her life.
