Support Jody Klitz in Her Cancer Battle

My name is Jackie (Klitz) Koesterman, this GoFundMe page was developed to raise funds to assist my sister-in-law Jody Klitz who was diagnosed with pancreatic and common bile duct cancer.

Jody has always been very special to me, and later to my entire family.

I became friends with Jody when she started working with me at Altru as a Coder. We were such good friends, that I introduced Jody to my brother Jimmy. Lucky for our family's they fell in love, got married and now they were a family of 6. Jody is an amazing mom and Nana, a wonderful and thoughtful daughter and sister. Jody is that kind of person that everyone would love to have as a friend.

Jody has had a year of what one would call bad luck when it comes to her health. A year ago Jody had to have a below the knee leg amputation due to medical issues. She has been so positive since the amputation, and gets around pretty darn good with her prosthetic.

A little over a month ago, Jody was having some symptoms, had labs done and ended up in surgery with a blocked common bile duct. Biopsies were sent to Mayo, the results came back as cancer. From there she was sent to Rochester, then more devastating news, pancreatic cancer.

Jody has a long road ahead of her, more appointments coming up this week in Rochester, including a port placement for chemotherapy, which she will have for 6 months. Further treatment includes radiation therapy for 5 1/2 weeks, 5 days a week, then back to Mayo Rochester for surgery with a minimum stay of 2 weeks for Jody and Jimmy.

Now, I am asking all of you for your support for Jody during this challenging time. All funds will go towards medical expenses, treatments, and travel expenses to and from Mayo, with hotels expenses.
