<div>Jay is a spunky kid who wears a smile everywhere he goes and he loves to help.

<div>Unfortunately, his eagerness to help resulted in a tragic incident resulting in a broken spine.

<div>At just 7 years old, his world has been turned upside down.
</div>

<div>Jay &amp; his father were getting ready to go riding on Christmas Day and were preparing to load the trailer with their dirt bikes.
</div>

<div>While Jay’s daddy was reaching for his coat in the truck, Jay, excited and ready to ride, ran and tried to unlatched the trailer ramp on his own. In seconds, he was crushed beneath the heavy 265lb ramp.
</div>

<div>He was taken immediately to the nearest hospital where he had a CT scan done. It was then determined that he needed to be transported to another hospital that specializes in child trauma care.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Immediately upon arrival he had an MRI which determined that he traumatic fractures of T12 &amp; L1 vertebrae, traumatic edema of the lumbar spinal cord &amp; of the thoracic spinal cord. He also has a left fracture to the 3rd metacarpal in his hand. He is currently staying in the ICU unit.

<div>Jay has successfully made it through his first surgery where his spine was realigned with pins and screws. They fused his spine with fragments of bone from the fractures in his spine &amp; a little bone from a bone bank.
</div>

</div>
<div>This first surgery has lifted the no-movement restrictions that he was under for the last 29 hours and he is now able to sit up by leaning his bed, but not on his own.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It is possible that this will be his only surgery but it’s not definitive as of yet.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>However, It is highly likely that Jay may never walk again.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The funds we are raising will go directly towards his medical &amp; therapeutic expenses &amp; any other resources necessary to aid in his recovery.
</div>
