Join James Battle Against Cancer

March 17th, 2017 was the day that changed everything for James Jurgensen. He was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma. Typically this type of cancer is very treatable and James was given an 88% chance of survival and started on Chemo Therapy treatments right away. Recently James has taken a turn for the worse. New tests revealed that the cancer now has Cerebral Spinal Fluid involvement causing swelling in his brain, and facial paralysis. He was given a new survival rate of 33-50 %. The doctors said that only 1% of patients with Hodgkins Lymphoma develop this. James now had to start a heavy Chemo Therapy regimen that has to be injected directly into his spine. On Thursday May 25th, 2017 James went into multi-system organ failure due to sepsis which commonly occurs in oncology patients undergoing high dose Chemo Therapy. He has been fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit ever since. James is going to need weekly Chemo injections into his spine, his heart, blood transfusions, bone marrow transplant, and many more procedures to have a fighting chance. Since he is in no condition to return to work he is losing his Medical Insurance and urgently needs help for his treatments.

James is a 33 year old amazing father to his 16 year old son Taylor, engaged to the love of his life Sarah, and was working full-time prior to this, while being on the waiting list to start the Nursing program this summer. His dream is to help people. Anyone who knows James, knows that he has a heart of gold, and his son, his fiance, and his family are his world. I am the mother of his son, and when Taylor saw his dad when we arrived Friday morning in the condition he was in, hooked up to a bypap machine, with tubes coming out of every part of him I watched my son break down. He was absolutely devastated to witness his father barely holding on for his life. As James friend, and Taylor's mother my heart broke to pieces. James could barely breath without help from the bypap machine but took it off to tell his son with what little strength he had "I'm fighting like hell son!" We ask from the bottom of our hearts to please "Join James Battle Against Cancer" by donating anything to help with his continued treatment. This is sadly the beginning of a long hard road ahead and by the guidance, grace, and strength of our Lord to fight with everything in him to beat this! He can't do it alone! He needs all of our help. Thank you does not begin to express the love and gratitude for your support!

A message from James son Taylor: I've always loved my dad! He's honestly the best dad a kid could ever ask for. We always  went fishing, he took me to concerts, movies, snowboarding and so much more. But it wasn't until I saw my dad 2 days ago in the ICU barely hanging on to his life that I realized just how much I loved him and needed him! I'll never forget the pain I felt seeing him that way! I need my dad to take me fishing again. I need him to see me graduate high school, and college. See me get married, and have kids one day, and just be by my side through good or bad. I ask if your able to please help my dad get continued treatments so that we can make this come true. Thank you so much.
