Hazira's Story
The day in February 2017, when my mother, Hazira Mehmedovic was diagnosed with cancer is forever etched in my memory.
My mother was diagnosed with one of the most feared forms of cancer, brain cancer, a high grade Glioblastoma. All praise belongs to Allah (God) for prolonging her life and allowing her to outlive the prognosis that was given to her which was a “few months to live”, according to various Doctors here in Chicago.
It’s been one year since her diagnosis and in this whole year we have spoken to many different Doctors in their respected fields but not much was offered as a treatment plan except for the standard Chemo and Radiation. Hazira has undergone two brain surgeries where most of the tumor was removed, however it was quickly to return. With countless visits to the emergency room and many hospital stays we have never been given a treatment plan where the Doctors were confident that the results would be positive. My mother has done two rounds of chemotherapy but to no avail. A post MRI has shown that Chemotherapy is not working in slowing the growth of the tumor let alone removing it completely. Even after being told countless times by the Doctors in our city that there is nothing else they could do for my mother we haven’t given up hope and have continued on our quest for a cure. My mothers resilience and strength even one year down the line is remarkable and keeps us pushing forward.
We have been blessed to be guided to a clinic in Houston, Texas “the Burzynski Clinic” where we met a team of two Doctors that have come up with a specific targeted treatment plan for my mother. Her chances of beating this tumor is much higher here at the Burzynski Clinic. Dr. Burzynski has helped others with the same diagnosis as my mother and many of these individuals are now cancer free!
This is where we need your help. We were able to cover the first month of this treatment plan as well as the travel and stay. The treatment consists of Anti-neoplastins, Avastin infusions as well as some targeted oral medications. After a week of this treatment a complete blood draw was done on my mother and we have seen a HIGH INCREASE in her Uric Acid as well as her LDH which is a STRONG indication that her tumor is beginning to BREAK DOWN, In shaa Allah (God Willing).
Unfortunately, insurance does not cover the Medications that this clinic has to offer and we are unable to come up with the funds to pay for this treatment as well as factoring in future travel and stay expenses. Burzynski Clinic Treatment
Dr S. Burzynski of the Burzynski Clinic in Houston Texas has developed an Antineoplaston treatment which uses naturally occurring peptides and amino-acids to activate tumour suppressor genes that prevents cancer and turns off oncogenes that force cancer cell division.
