Help Transform Orphans' Lives with Access To Clean Water

Donation protected
Dear Friends-

We, in the USA, often take things like clean, easily accessible water for granted; but there are some places in the world where even such a basic need is out of reach.

I have, by chance or, by my estimation, serendipity, become the honorary ambassador for a small orphan center in Uganda:
Rakai Vulnerable Home Center.

TO THE SKEPTICS:
I've had some people tell me, "it sounds like scam". It's understandable to be skeptical because there are so many scams these days. That is why I have taken a lot time and effort to do my due diligence to assure that this center is legitimate. It is. 100%.

Here are endorsements from local district government officials. They're a little hard to understand due to their accents but they verify the legitimacy of the center.

ABOUT RVHC
Over the past several months, I have gotten to know Imran Muwembe, the founder of the center, and I have found him to be an angel on Earth. This is a man of utmost integrity with a pure heart and truly selfless and noble mission. He is caring for about 30 orphans at his center with the help of one woman, Phiona, who does all the cooking and helps care for the children.

Rakai Vulnerable Home Center does not receive any help from the Ugandan government or any Non-Government Organizations. I have been helping as much as I am able and have been trying to contact many NGOs and have had disappointing responses and no offers of help so far.

These children cannot wait. This is an urgent situation. Therefore, I am appealing directly to friends and family and anyone with a heart for orphaned children to please help!

THE STRUGGLE
The center lacks many basic resources. They don’t have running water but have to trek 45 minutes each way to a swamp to fetch water from a contaminated swamp which is directly downstream of where people release their raw sewage. The children regularly get sick from drinking this water and some have come down with life threatening Typhoid and had to be hospitalized. As if that wasn’t dangerous enough, the girls are at great risk of being raped or abducted along the way to the swamp. With only 2 adults accompanying them, they are, indeed, very vulnerable.

They have limited electricity only powered by a small solar panel. They have no internet and no computer. Everything is done on Imran’s cheap phone including the videos that I asked Imran to shoot. I edited the videos together into one video to take viewers along with these children on their journey to fetch water. I request that you please watch the video and kindly donate toward the project of digging a well on the grounds of the center so they can have clean water as well as:
  • Food for their immediate needs
  • Seeds and tools to plant food so they can become self sufficient,
  • Internet access
  • Computer
  • School Fees
  • Monthly Sponsorships
  • Adoption! These kids would love a family of their own!

PROGRESS
With the donations we have received so far, they have been able to take the first step towards clean, accessible water. They now have a solar powered water pump. But they can't use it until we get enough donations to dig the well and purchase the solar panels that will power it.

Here is a video of the kids receiving the water pump:

Thank you so much for your donation in any amount be it $1 or $1000, the children will be so grateful. I will be posting updates on the progress that is being made and I hope we can all join in celebrating the completion of the well that will absolutely transform the lives of these beautiful orphan children.
