<div>Hello, I am Marie C. I am a working  mother of three children, and my oldest daughter Emma (13), was recently diagnosed with cancer. Emma had developed a lump/swelling around her neck. At first we thought it would be minor and just some swelling from an infection, but we went to the doctor’s in case. The next day we received results from a blood test which revealed Emma’s diagnosis of Lymphoma, also known as Leukemia. We immediately went to the Harbor City ER and conducted a CT scan of her neck, lungs, and chest. The results showed a shadow on her neck and lungs, so she was immediately transferred to a hospital in Anaheim, to be admitted for a biopsy. A week later on May 13th, the doctor gave Emma a diagnosis of blood cancer called “<strong>Hodgkin Lymphoma</strong>”. It is said to be a relatively common cancer among teenagers. The original diagnosis was stage 2 based on the CT scan, but a PET scan showed metastases to her neck, lungs, spine, and spleen, and so she was given a new diagnosis at stage 4 on May 28th.

<div>首のシコリが気になると相談を受けたものの最初は素人考えで、何かの感染症にかかって腫れているだけだと思っていました。ですが少しでも不安があるのなら医者へ見せたほうがいいと思い、病院へ連れて行くことに。

<div>そして、翌日に出た血液検査の結果、”Lymphoma” もしくは“leukemia”を疑うとの診断が下り、即harbor city のERへ連れて行き、首、肺、胸のCTスキャンを撮りました。その結果、首と肺に影が写っているとのことで、即アナハイムの病院へ転院され、そのままbiopsy を受けるため入院しました。

<div>1週間後の5/13に医者から出された診断は、”<strong>Hodgkin Lymphoma</strong>”という血液の癌でした。ティーンエイジャーに比較的多く見られる癌だそうです。

<div>CTスキャンに結果から最初はステージ2と診断されましたが、PETスキャンの結果、首と肺他に背骨とspleenにも転移が見られ、新たに5/28にステージ4と診断されました。

<div>最短で８ヶ月間、隔週でchemoを受ける予定になっており、現在一回目を6/5に終えたばかりです。

<div>髪が抜け落ち始める前に、腰まであった髪を顎の辺りまでバッサリ切りました。
</div>
<div>完治することを堅く信じて闘病生活を送る娘を皆様、どうか応援してあげてください。
