<div>         For anyone who has not yet heard, our dear friend Elaine was in a snowboarding accident midday December 17th. She was on her last run about 100 yards from the base lodge and was practicing riding switch, dug in, and landed with her full weight forward. An x-ray was performed on the mountain and a temporary splint put in place to make it down the hill. After arriving back home she knew something wasn't right as the pain got worse. Elaine was taken to the hospital in an ambulance early the next morning around 2am, the injury showed two breaks in her leg, tibia and fibula. Dusty was able to pick her up the next morning and took her to the orthopedic clinic where she was told she would need surgery. The surgery could not be performed until Friday the 20th so she visited the doctor scheduled to perform the surgery who recast the leg tighter, hoping to lessen the swelling. A CT scan was also performed which added to her overall medical costs.
