Update: Diego has finally been scheduled for a permanent surgery date it will take place on the 17th of January. Again we are just asking for prayers, my dad is still taking some time to be in Austin to help with my brothers recovery so everything is appreciated! A big thank you to Diego’s case manager who went to bat they were trying to make us wait till February but we just don’t have that kind of time. So please keep Diego in your prayers!
Hi… I know you guys have probably heard about my little big brother Diego Santos, and if you haven’t I’ll give you a little bit of a rundown on what’s going on. On September 19th just 8 days after his 18 birthday Diego went to the Kermit Emergency Room where he was told he probably had Covid but in reality was suffering from something that is called an inter-cranial hemorrhage. He was then life flighted to covenant hospital where we were told on the second day to gather the family that Diego may not make it but God had other plans for his child. Time went on it felt like an eternity endless amounts of questions and little to no answers, battling brainstorm after brainstorm on top of my brother contracting pneumonia due to fluid in his lungs from constant vomiting. Until God finally opened the door to a rehabilitation facility in Austin Texas. Diego’s first couple of days were bumpy as there was a miscommunication between the facility and the hospital the facility was not quite sure what they were dealing with. They planned to do more CT scanning on Diego as soon as possible. Well today December 3rd I got the most gut wrenching phone call from my mom, who told me my sweet baby bother had underwent 9 strokes that went undetected… We are just waiting to see just how bad Diego’s brain has been affected, doctors say if it’s not looking to bad they will continue what they are doing for him, if all turns to worst they will see about operating on him where, they will be placing a shunt in his head to help relief some of the pressure/fluids. We are calling on all of our prayer warriors that God may use his hands through the surgeon. At the end of everything our God has the final say I thank the doctor who found this out hopefully just in time for us to help him.. My mom and dad will be staying in Austin with him until further notice so that leaves my dad out of work for a bit.. anything helps as I know the holidays are here it’s just been a very tough time and we are so appreciative of everything!
