Debbie Martin is a valued member of the Internal Audit team at the University of Colorado System office. A fabulously single woman, she has one grown son and two super cute granddaughters who keep her on her toes. Debbie is also the primary support for her elderly mom. Debbie “keeps the wheels turning” for Internal Audit; she proof reads our reports, leads the effort to assemble materials for the Board of Regents, keeps our computers working, and supports us in many more ways.
Debbie was recently diagnosed with a rare form of abdominal cancer called pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP). The recommended course of treatment is surgery and associated chemotherapy. However, the cancer is so rare that she will have to travel to Houston for the surgery and follow-up care.
As too many of you know, cancer takes a physical, emotional, and financial toll. Our goal is to raise at least $6,000 to help Debbie pay her medical and other expenses. We hope the funds raised will give her one less thing to worry about as she takes on this incredible challenge.
