<div>A few years ago, Carly developed what she thought was a cyst on her jawline, close to her ear. After seeing a doctor about it, they also assured her that it was indeed a cyst and would go away with time... but it never did.

<div>This past November, after waking up in extreme pain, she visited an urgent care who sent her for a CT scan, and from there she was sent for multiple biopsies.

<div>After weeks of waiting for answers during the Christmas holiday, she was informed that what she actually had been dealing with for years was a rare Parotid gland tumor. 80% of Parotid gland tumors are benign, but unfortunately that is not the case for Carly.

<div>Currently, doctors are also concerned that the tumor may be affecting a nearby lymph node as scans are showing abnormalities in the region. The current plan is to find a doctor who is familiar with this type of tumor who is willing and able to do surgery to remove the tumor and deal with the lymph node in the process. They believe radiation will be to follow, but that could always change. There is still a lot of information we don't have yet.

<div>The last month has been full of doctor's appointments for her, all while trying to continue to work a full-time job. Even with her benefits, she has an extremely high deductible, putting unnecessary stress on her and her family.
