Join Buster's Battle Against Parvovirus
Donation protected
Our family has gone through so much in the past week. First was the loss of my precious dog, Layla, whom we had since she was 10 weeks old and was loved very much. Then, by sheer miracle, we took in a puppy named Buster that had a desperate need for rehoming. As soon as he was brought home, he bonded with my 2-year-old son. None of our dogs have bonded with him the way Buster has. The two of them are inseparable. Then, in four short days, that puppy contracted parvovirus.
Parvovirus is a highly contagious virus that doesn’t have a cure, except for running its course. The survival rate for dogs with Parvo is extremely small without the care received from hospitalization. It was caught in time, but the only vet office that would take him is over two hours away from where we live. This is because of the highly contagious nature of parvovirus. The facility has to have an isolation chamber in order to treat the disease. It took an extremely long time to be seen, since a bunch of emergencies occurred that night, but during that time, poor Buster also threw up tapeworms.
Since the diagnosis was caught early, Buster is responding very well to the treatment. However, the vet bills are astronomical, and we urgently need help paying for it.
Our family believes dogs give a huge amount of unconditional love to those who are blessed enough to have them in their lives, and that is something we cherish. I, especially, believe that they (and all animals) are gifts from God. We cannot imagine losing another dog, especially one so young who has bonded to the family so quickly.
If you feel the same as we do, please bless us with your gift and your prayers.
Any extra blessings we receive, if we go beyond what was asked for, will go to our local ASPCA.
Thank you
