Johnston County Rugby Park

The Johnston County Rugby Park is a joint venture between the Town of Wilson’s Mills and the Clayton Rugby Football Club. Since the summer of 2017 the Clayton RFC has been working closely with the Town of Wilson’s Mills on this joint community park project. As part of the partnership, the town is installing a playground and bathroom/pavilion facility as well as providing land for the rugby facility, which is being developed by the Clayton RFC. When not in use for rugby, the fields are being made available to the Town to fulfill the recreational needs of their growing community.
Once complete, the Johnston County Rugby Park will have three playing fields in total. Two of which are being developed as multi-purpose fields, sized for rugby, and with ground sleeves in place for removable goal posts. The focal point of the facility is going to be the Championship Pitch which will be of full international size and have permanent professional grade goal posts. The Championship Pitch is going to also see further additions in the coming years with a full service clubhouse and community building, covered grandstand, scoreboard, lights, and other upgrades in the works.
The park is poised to become a hub of activity for both rugby and community in Johnston County.
Unfortunately, due to the recent setbacks put forth from COVID-19 and stay at home sanctions, Clayton RFC has has to cancel two of its major fundraisers it was counting on to get them past the final stage of completing this project. So now we are reaching out to the amazing rugby community to ask for your help to get this long overdue project completed and help us not only spread the sport of rugby but also giving the community a place to gather and a place for children to enjoy. We are in a due or die situation and with the clock counting down we are dangerously close to losing this amazing project, so please help us cross that finish line but donating what you can to assist us in seeing our dream come true. Every little bit helps and we at Clayton Rugby Club sincerely appreciate your support!
