Missions to Düsseldorf, Germany

Donation protected
We're going to Dusseldorf, Germany for four months to start English-conversation groups on local campuses. English is a hot commodity to students in Dusseldorf, and we've been given a chance to share in some relational evangelism. Going wasn't a hard decision. When it comes down to it, Jesus laid out a pretty simple system for us, didn't He? Love God, love others, and love ourselves. Nope, deciding to go was easy. Paying for it however, is a real challenge.

To be honest with you, we don't have $12,400 laying about the house, so we decided to send letters to people we don't usually write and ask for something we don't usually ask for, money. We'd love if you could financially support us on this mission trip. A little, a lot, any would be great.

Please note that all donations we receive are going to fund our mission work through the International Mission Board (IMB) starting in AUGUST 2011.
Donations DO NOT need to be directed to First Baptist Nashville (our current church). If you want to know more about the trip OR if you\'d rather mail a contribution, feel free to let us know and we'll contact you with that information.

Then comes the most important part of what we're asking for "“ prayer. If you could pray about the trip, that would be amazing. As much as God loves mission trips, other people don't. There will be a whole host of obstacles that pop up and entangle themselves around our ankles as we prepare to go love the people of Dusseldorf. Knowing that you are praying would mean a lot to us and be a huge encouragement in our daily walk. We'd love it if you'd follow our blog, johnsonsingermany.wordpress.com, for the latest updates on our adventure.

***Donations of frequent flyer miles are ALSO accepted!

Here are 3 FAQ\'s that might be helpful:

1. Who are you partnered with in Düsseldorf?
We are there through the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

2. What will you be doing in Germany?

Interns will be partnering together to lead English Conversation Groups (EC Groups) amongst the University community. These will be very casual and informal English conversation opportunities, not classes. Interns will participate in doing surveys & prayer walking on the university campus as well as advertising for the EC groups. Interns will also be involved in team worship, prayer, planning (of the bi-montly activities), and fellowship meetings; meeting regularly with a mentor and with an accountability partner(s). Interns will take time to make contact with the participants outside of the weekly meeting times & bi-montly group activities, in order to build deeper relationships with them. Through these relationships they will gain the opportunity to share Christ as they live Him in front of the participants as well as tell them of His love, truth, and hope. The hope is that we will see participants giving their lives to the Lord and being discipled, becoming church(es), and Lord willing, eventually, a church planting movement.

3. How much support do you need to raise and for what specifically?
$1250 per person/per month for FOUR months AND airfare (around $2400). The $1250 covers housing, food, travel in-country, insurance, ministry supplies, & communication expenses from AUGUST 22, 2011 through DECEMBER 10, 2011. So a TOTAL of around $12,400.
