I received this note from my dear friend John Keeling the other day:
This is not something that is in my nature to do but I was convinced by my friends to give it a shot. Let’s start with the backstory...
I have had 14 diagnosed concussions and who knows how many others. The last two leaving me unable to work for several months. I now have ongoing concussion related issues.
Neurologists have told me there is nothing that can be done and the only solution is to limit brain stimulation. Basically go sit in a dark, quiet room until you feel better. Thankfully, I have friends that would not accept that answer and researched Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy(HBOT) and found that it was a great help for my issues. I began using their hyperbaric chamber and it was life changing. I literally cried after the first time. With continuous HBOT, my symptoms all but disappeared. Now, I have moved away and no longer have access to a chamber. My options are now very expensive to get the amount of hyperbaric time I need. It would run over $2000 a month. Hyperbaric Chambers are not cheap, about $25,000 new, however, you can pick up a used one and have it re-certified and get it at a much lower price. The cost of that is right around $15,000.
That is where you come in, I am trying to raise the money to purchase one not only for myself, but to be able to have an option for others who could use the therapy as well. My friends in Seattle changed my life with their love and hospitality and I would like to do the same for others.
