John's Fight Against Lung Cancer

My mom and her husband John got married this May. Those of you who know my mom already know what kind of person she is. For those of you who don't know her, I will just tell you that she is one of the sweetest, most caring, and most selfless individuals you will ever meet. John, her husband, is just like her; they are a perfect match and he has been a blessing to our family. Just three short months after their wedding, John was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. At a time that is supposed to be blissfully happy, John has begun the fight for his life with my mom by his side. My mom drives him to and from radiation in Middletown (nearly an hour drive) 5 days a week and will continue to do this for 7 weeks. She works nights at a skilled nursing facility. On nights that she works, she drives home for a nap in the morning, drives John to radiation, drives back home for another nap, and then back to work for the night. My mom has struggled her entire life with things most people couldn't imagine and has never once asked for help.. and she still isn't. Even with insurance, medical bills are astronomical. John's first copay cost them $1900.. just to give you an idea. John is unable to work right now and will not receive any financial assistance until at least February. My mom unable to make ends meet on her own. Their car is falling apart and needs repair ASAP. It unsafe to be driving. Please, PLEASE help in the only way I can think of asking right now. This is only the beginning of a long journey for our family. Please help make it even the slightest bit easier or less stressful for them. If you can't donate, please share.
