Our family is facing one of the hardest moments of our lives. Johnny has been battling bladder cancer for a while. He was first diagnosed with stage one and went through BCG treatments, which unfortunately did not help. Eventually, his bladder was removed, and he continued care at the Mitchell Cancer Center in Mobile, Alabama, while trying different chemotherapies and immunotherapies. Despite his determination, nothing stopped the progression of the cancer.
In May 2025, doctors shared that there were no further treatment options other than clinical trials. While those trials could help future patients, they would not change his outcome. He then made the decision to put the rest in God’s hands. Since then, the cancer has spread to his liver, kidneys, lymphatic system, shoulder, bones, and pelvis. At this stage, he is on hospice care seven days a week, with his wife faithfully by his side as his full-time caregiver.
Although Johnny was blessed to have medical insurance, he has no life insurance or burial insurance. He has not been able to work in three years, and the financial burden of end-of-life expenses now falls entirely on our family. We want to ensure he has a proper burial and a dignified farewell, but we cannot cover the costs alone.
We are humbly asking for help during this difficult time. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward funeral and burial expenses. If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this page or keeping our family in your prayers.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness and support as we prepare to say goodbye to our Pawpaw.
