Johnene Medical

My daughter, Johnene, is a graduate in photography and graphic design who loves art. She developed a bone infection, osteomyelitis, that took her arm above the elbow in July 2016. Within a the year the infection returned and took both her legs at the knee in April 2017. After 6 months in the hospital, the infection is completely gone, but the healing, both mentally and physically needs to be done. Her spirit is strong and her attitude is positive, as she tries to relearn how to do basic things in life. She currently lives in a nursing home, where physical therapy helps her to get stronger. The new legs she just received has brought a big smile to her face.

In between her therapy, she paints paintings for people. Calls bingo 4 times a week for the seniors at the nursing home and teaches painting techniques to a group at the home.

Funds are needed to help offset costs of the physical therapy, wheel chair, medication and walker. She would like to leave the nursing home as soon as she is able in order to “get her life back”. Since she hasn’t been able to work for a year she also needs to get money together for rent in a handicap accessible building.
