The Schrober's Caregiving Fund

By now everyone knows John's story. Stage IV non-small cell lung cancer, 15 months of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and since April, hospice. So many of you have been supportive through this - gift cards, checks, food. Truly, you're amazing.
Throughout all of this, Bun was able to continue her work as a caregiver. She loves this work and in addition to it bringing much needed cash to the house, it got her out of the house and provided an activity that she enjoyed. Dad, too, has worked at Kroger this entire time, for the same reasons as Bun. He doesn't like to sit around, he likes seeing the regular customers, and I think we can all agree that remaining active has contributed to his longevity! Things got tight here and there as they do with any couple facing cancer, but with our family and friends they were able to cover the basics of food, gas, and prescriptions.
As the disease progresses throughout my Dad's body, those activities they've enjoyed have gone downhill quickly.  Dad can only really go to Kroger one or two times a week, but his body is weaker and he falls down quite a bit. Bun has had to stop working so that she can care for Dad full time. And things have gotten very tight in terms of expenses.
For those of you who have given so much already, please do not feel compelled to do more than you already have. But for those of you who have come to Bun, John, Jen or Andy and said, "Let me know what I can do to help" now's your time. $5, $10, it doesn't matter. We've cut expenses as much as we can at this point, and will have another garage sale soon, but the need is immediate. They need financial help now, and while we all hate asking for something like this (even me, the fundraiser!) it's this exact type of situation that GoFundMe exists for.
This will be used for household expenses and bills. I promise you won't see us living it up in Miami on your dime! We've held off as long as we could for something like this, but it's time. Mom and Dad have enough anxiety and sadness in these final weeks.
If you have questions or want to discuss their situation more, I'm happy to talk, just email me or PM me on Facebook. But whatever you can contribute is beyond appreciated.
Much thanks and love to all of you.
