John's campaign for Yuma Territory Live Steamers

Tax deductible
We bring smiles on kids faces and they enjoy the ride around our park. We need you help to keep us going. Please donate what you can, I know we will appreciate it and so will the kids.

We are in dire need to replace our old engines before they completely give up. We run 4 times a month through May for 5 hours pulling car loads of riders which puts a lot of strain on our equipment.

After careful consideration we have come up with a design that we, as a club, with our talents and machines to build one that will be able to handle the heavy demands that we put it under pulling car loads of riders around our track for several hours each month.

The cost for us to build it would be $10,000.00. If we bought one already made it still would not be heavy enough for our demands and would run  $18,000.00.

Since we are a 501(c)3 non-profit that provides rides and education for the children of the Yuma area we are asking for donations to cover this cost. We welcome small and larger donations that are tax deductible.

Thank you for your consideration.

Ride Locomotive

Yuma Live Steamers has found it necessary to build a new ride locomotive.  As a club, Yuma Live Steamers gives rides two weekends out of the month, October through May.  This is a large demand on a piece of equipment that pulls car loads of people around our track.  The club owns two hobby style locomotives that are not heavy duty enough to fulfil the demands that are put on them.  Break downs are a common problem with light duty, hobby locomotive.  As a club of many talents we plan on building our own ride locomotive.  The cost will be $10,000 and will include the following.

1.     Steel body that tilts up for servicing.

2.     Plate steel frame with welded sides.

3.     16Hp Honda, electric start engine.

4.     30 Amp alternator.

5.     14 GPM hydraulic pump, cooler, filter and tank.

6.     (3) Hydraulic motors.

7.     Hydraulic dynamic braking.

8.     Add brakes to ride cars.

9.     Welded steel AAR type “A” power trucks.

10. Steel cast wheels.

11. Air compressor for ride car brakes and horn.

12.  Air tank.

13.  Large trumpet air horn.

14.  Control box with gauges.

15.  Engineers car with one drive truck and very comfortable seat.

 Union Pacific color scheme.
