John Zampieri II Education Fund

John Zampieri passed away peacefully on June 7th, 2021 at Tufts Medical Center, Boston of advanced heart failure/cardiac arrest surrounded by his loving family: his wife Joyce; daughter Rebecca; daughter Roxanna; and his grandson and namesake John Zampieri II.
Johnny II was John’s greatest joy. He loved having a Grandson and relished in every moment they spent together. The two were inseparable and could be found riding their John Deere tractors (he got Johnny a mini electric model), playing with trains and building tracks on the train table, feeding the birds, painting and doing art activities together, playing with matchbox cars, designing Magna Tile garages and most recently during his illness, sharing in educational iPad games as well as Nonno John’s favorite, “Angry Birds.”
The day John passed he was able to share his last wishes with his family in between episodes of ventricular tachycardia.
He shared his wishes for each of us and was especially focused on making sure that Johnny had sufficient funds for his education in years to come. John asked that a fund be established in his memory and in lieu of flowers donations kindly be made to the John Zampieri II Education Fund in loving Memory of Nonno, John Zampieri.
During the time John was able to share his last wishes , the ventricular tachycardia episodes increased in frequency. He made the heart wrenching decision to have his internal defibrillator machine (ICD) turned off.
