My sister-in law wrote this beautiful tribute to my brother, who passed suddenly this week. Please read this story and consider donating to help his young family get back on their feet....

”I've known John for a decade, and over those years we've gone from MySpace friends to married. I saw the most amazing person in him.  Complicated, brilliant, dedicated, passionate, loving and generous. He loved my children as if they were his own. He helped me check off my bucket list items... From the simple things like bringing me to Trans Siberia Orchestra or Garth Brooks to cross country trips to see the Empire State Building on Valentine's Day or to make a child's dream to see the Statue of Liberty, there's nothing he wouldn't do to make us happy. When I got pregnant we were both in shock. We had a stressful pregnancy, our little baby had a heart defect and we required many tests, prayers and strength. We were blessed with a healthy baby girl and her heart condition miraculously healed itself. Life was good with our three children, we finally found jobs we loved that treated us well and things were good.

On Sunday night, John thought he had caught a stomach bug. He stayed home from work for two days, which is unheard of for him! On Tuesday he was much more sick and we went to the hospital. While there he did not get better, and although the doctors tried for a very long time, he didn't come back to us. I was with him. I held his hand. I rubbed his arm and head. I kissed him. I told him we loved him and needed him and I chanted Gemma's name to him in hopes it would help keep him with us. But I guess he was needed more somewhere else. My heart is broken. I am devastated for our children, especially Gemma who has no other father. She is a complete daddy's girl. He loved her so much it radiated from him. His world and all that he worked for revolved around Gemma, Michael Ali, me and his mom, sisters nieces and nephews. He was so fiercely loyal to his people. He came a long way and was an amazing man and I already miss him so much.”
