Donation protected
Adam Wallace, Sam Mence, Alex Sneddon and Joe Marron will be cycling from the most northern point of Scotland (John o’ Groats) to the most southern point of England (Lands End), beginning on Thursday 13th August 2020 and lasting approximately 2 weeks.  We will be doing so in order to raise money for the following community sporting projects:

(all money raised will be donated on a 50/50 split)

Belvedere Boxing Club CIC

Covid 19 has had a devastating impact on Belvedere Boxing club CIC both emotionally and financially. Normal fundraising activities have been put on hold; This includes lack of membership income and club shows that have been forced to cancel. Since the clubs inception, hundreds of people have passed through the doors. Boxers young and old, aspiring professionals and amateurs alike have benefited enormously from the commitment and dedication of the team of volunteers. Belvedere Boxing club CIC has been a safe haven for disadvantaged children/young adults and is a lifeline for many. They also work closely with children that have been withdrawn from school due to bullying and anxiety. The club also provides many other activities, including educational support, employment support, wellbeing and essential worth with schools and children at risk.

St Matthews Project

The St. Matthew’s Project started life in the summer of 2004 and has developed, literally, from a kick-about in Brockwell Park for young people from one estate in Brixton, St. Matthew’s.  The Project now regularly engages with over 200 young people every week from across the Lambeth area, has developed over 200 F.A qualified coaches, developed girls’ football in Lambeth and consistently provides free, fun football activities to young people living within the most deprived 10% Deprivation Deciles nationally for crime and living environment. The project has grown to such an extent that football forms just a portion of it in 2020. There is a lot of work around mental well-being, a counselling service with the Well Centre where members can get access to one-to-one sessions; parent and toddler schemes where parents are encouraged to read to their children; trauma reaction training and lots more. Recently there has been help from neighbouring football clubs, a heartening reminder that sport is ultimately a force for good.
