John Fry, an unsung hero - we owe our thanks.

Since the elections in 2016, so many of Trump’s lies, deceptions and criminal activities have either been covered up or forgotten. Witnesses have been intimidated, bullied and silenced. Let us honor one of the few individuals who – at great personal and financial risk – had the courage to hold truth to power.

His name is John Fry, and he is a hero.

John was the IRS Investigative Analyst who made public the illegal activity behind Michael Cohen’s hush-money payments to Stormy Daniels through the bogus company Essential Consultants. John’s discovery of this illegal campaign finance also revealed that one of the companies who wrote checks to Essential Consultants was Columbus Nova, whose largest client is a company controlled by Russian oligarch, Viktor Vekselberg, who was under U.S. sanctions.

John knew his actions in May of 2018 would cause him to lose his job but he felt strongly that this was his duty. He had to bring this truth to light and was prepared to take the punishment he would be given. John’s case was just settled on January 15, 2020.  He received 5 years probation, a $5,000 fine and incurred another $20,000 in legal fees. Starting today, January 29, John will begin his 5 year probation which will require that he wear an ankle bracelet for home monitoring purposes, for the next 6 months. He lost his job with the IRS which was expected.

When asked if he would do it again - he said he would, although he might have handled how to bring the information to light a little differently. “I knew this case was bigger than me and felt compelled to bring this truth to light knowing this decision would be a turning point in my life. I plead guilty and I have taken responsibility for my actions.”

As a criminal investigator at the IRS for ten years, John examined hundreds of thousands of reports from various financial institutions referred to as SARs:  Suspicious Activities Reports. He was a workaholic and he was very proud of working for the federal government in this capacity. He was so good at what he did, he was tasked with teaching other CI Special Agents, Investigative Analysts and Investigative Assistants for the IRS, some of the computer programs they use, at the main IRS-Criminal Investigation teaching facility, known as FLETC (Federal Law Enforcement Training Center) in Georgia.

In April of 2018, when this case first appeared on John's radar (his jurisdiction was the Bay Area of San Francisco), becoming a hero was the last thing on his mind. John was merely doing his job, researching and trying to build a case around these mystery files but when he tried to find more information and more files, for some reason - it was not there. When files are missing, this is a red flag. With his laser focus, John made this fateful discovery.

We owe John our thanks. His name and his brave actions will go down in history.  John did his part, and we as private citizens owe him our thanks and our financial support.  He didn’t ask for this GoFundMe campaign, but his life may change again as a result. Let’s show him how much his actions meant to us and our country.  Please contribute whatever you can-  $5, 10, 20, everything helps!  And please SHARE this page!
