John Ferris runs Kerry Way Ultra 200km for 22q11
Donazione protetta
I plan to run the Kerry Way Ultra 200km Run on September 6th, 2019 in aid of the Wyeth Nutrition Askeaton Charity of the Year partner, 22q11 Ireland.
22q11 Deletion syndrome is a complex variable condition with over 180 different symptoms caused by a micro-deletion on the 22nd chromosome. No two persons with 22qDS will have exactly the same symptoms and some individuals will develop newer ones over time. On average, individuals could experience between 20 – 30 symptoms over their lifetime.
The 22q11 Ireland Support Group was set up to provide help, support and accurate information to Irish families. As a parent-led organisation 22q11 Ireland also advocates for greater understanding and awareness of this little known rare condition and the challenges that their children face on a daily basis.
The monies raised will be used towards building greater knowledge of the syndrome by getting the relevant specialists to Ireland to give the most accurate information and up-to-date research on 22q. This transfer of expert knowledge to both Irish families and Irish health care professionals results in better outcomes of care for the children and improves quality of life for the whole family.
I would appreciate any donation that you can make no matter how big or small!
Many thanks,
John
