<div>This past Friday (3/29), John received the devastating news that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer that has metastasized to his liver. The Rex Hospital doctors had to perform emergency surgery on Friday night that was risky, but John came out of the procedure as well as could have been expected.

<div>John is on the front end of a very long, hard to imagine, difficult time. We will not know his prognosis or exact treatment timeframe until early April after test results and medical planning has been finalized. We will keep this page updated with the latest information. Of course, you’re always welcome to reach out to Jan, Jill, and Rick on social media or text/call them. You are also welcome to text John. He has his phone and he enjoys getting text messages. Bottom line: we don’t want John to worry about monthly obligations and especially his upcoming medical expenses.

<div>No doubt, this’ll be costly. John currently does not have an income but we’re working on that. He does have family support; however, it won’t be enough.

<div>Having worked in the bar and restaurant industry his entire adult life, John has touched many MANY lives in a positive way. We’ve already heard from many people that want to help, so we are creating this fundraising page for those of you that have a desire to contribute.
