<div>On 29th November 2025, we lost a man that was known for his adventurous spirit, sense of humour and his legendary BBQs. John Branch was a formidable soul, building genuine connection with everyone he came across. John spent many years travelling and living in Africa, his happy place with Vicky (and occasionally the kids) on safari, where his blue eyes shone like the Indian Ocean.

<div>We also remember John for his reputation as an incredible physiotherapist, utterly dedicated to his vocation and his patients. In 1995 while studying for his physiotherapy degree, John did a residency at Zomba Central Hospital in Malawi, a time he thoroughly enjoyed despite the poverty of the region and struggles the hospital had in providing sufficient healthcare to many.

<div>In early 2025, John and Vicky spent three months travelling around Southern and Eastern Africa with their 4wd and rooftop tent. With their camping gear, plenty of water and firewood, and a bottle of gin in hand - despite tough conditions - John was in his element.

<div>On this trip their route would take them through Malawi, and John contacted the director of the hospital and then the head of the physiotherapy department, with whom John met, to be shown around the hospital, meet the staff and see how far the hospital had come in the past 30 years. He was so happy and honoured to have the opportunity to connect again with this special place.

<div>We have chosen to give any donations recieved in memory of John, to Zomba Central Hospital. We have no expectation of any donation, but are grateful for anything recieved in honour of John’s memory.
